5th September 2019 - Sittingbourne, Kent
The August weather we enjoyed so much carried over into September as I drove to film the beautiful Kent wedding of Joanna & Rob as they tied the knot at St Margaret of Antioch Church in Lower Halstow before heading just down the road to the stunning Barnyard wedding venue for their reception. Smiles, orchards, great dancing and jaegers were just some of what this day held in store!
I met Rob at St Margaret of Antioch Church, a stunning church that sits right on the edge of the water. I was straight into getting some shots of the beautiful Church and getting some lovely shots of the guests arriving and greeting Rob. Churches are always a challenge to film- they are always beautiful but normally have very harsh lighting pouring in through the massive stain glassed windows and its normally pretty dark inside considering and so you have to be ready to make adjustments on the fly!
Rob and his ushers got everyone inside the Church as Joanna was expected imminently so I headed out to meet her in the beautiful blue open top wedding car she had booked to arrive in style! Her bridesmaids all came with me as I walked up the pathway to greet her and I got a lovely shot of Joanna walking back down to the church surrounded by all of her girls.
The ceremony was lovely and before we knew it, Joanna & Rob were the new Mr & Mrs Kempton! Back down the aisle they came and we went straight into a really lovely confetti shot. The guests then started making their way to the Barnyard venue for the reception whilst me and Rebecca (from Rebecca Carpenter Photography) stayed around the Church to grab some shots of the happy couple. There was a lovely willow tree in the grounds of the Church that made for some great photos a film clips!
Fast forwarding through the day there was so much going on I had a job on my hands capturing it all! Family shots, garden games, champagne, the wonderful orchard at the Barnyard and some awesome shots of the bridle party were some of my highlights! The meal was followed by some really lovely and heartfelt speeches and just after they finished Rebecca suggested we go hunting for a good spot for some golden hour shots. Unfortunately the orchard is in a valley and the sun was behind the trees so we all hopped in Rebeccas car and drove over the road to the golf course who very kindly allowed us access onto the course where we got some amazing sunset shots!
The Jeager was free flowing when we got back and the party was started by Joanna and Rob as they shared their first dance and after that the dancing didn’t stop! Everyone celebrated and partied well into the night and a good time was had by all.
It was a pleasure to be involved and to be a part of this wedding and it was wonderful to see this happy couple tie the knot. I’m really happy with the films ive made them and I hope you enjoy them! You can see all the films and photos below, as well as a list of the suppliers that worked so hard to make the day happen for Joanna & Rob.
