I took a lovely summers drive down to Southampton for a very special newborn baby photo shoot with Sian & baby Sophia- special because Sian is my cousin and this was the first time I was meeting little Sophia! With the miles under my belt, sun burn on my arm and introductions made, it was time to knuckle down and take some great photos to celebrate Sophia joining the world.
They say that the two hardest subjects to work with are animals and children and to start with little Sophia definitely played up to that! Hungry & hot she had us all standing on ceremony for her- its pretty hard to be upset with a human that small though!
A quick bottle later and Sophia was ready to be a great little model for her first photoshoot, pulling some great faces as I snapped away. Having a portable studio is great as I can take it with me to any location and walk away with photographs that look like they were shot in a professional studio, like the ones you can see below of Sian holding Sophia. They were taken in Sians front room!
We photographed for around an hour, changing poses and adding in soft toys and changing backdrops. Sophia eventually got bored of my constant picture taking and so decided to take a nap- fine by me, sleeping babies are great photo opportunities as well!
I had a thoroughly great time on this photoshoot and the photographs turned out really nice. Unfortunately Sophias dad Charly couldn't be with us due to work commitments, but that means we get to organise another shoot soon to get all 3 members of this new family in some photos! I cant wait!
