If the last year has taught me anything its to give everything a go- you never know what opportunities are just around the corner. With that in mind I was absolutely thrilled to be asked along to the stunning Nurstead Court for a vintage glamour stylised wedding shoot- a rare opportunity to set up some amazing shots without the time pressures and constraints of a wedding day.
Being my first stylised shoot I didn’t know what to expect- primarily I had been asked along to film some behind the scenes footage of all the suppliers setting up and showcasing their talents as well as take any footage I wanted along the way to make a short film. Great! A blank canvas, a hot sunny day, a beautiful venue, lots of talented and happy suppliers- this was going to be a great day!
Organised by Heidi from Simply Irresistible Cakes the day was filled with a variety of Kent & Sussex wedding suppliers. I arrived and met Danny Inwood who would be the wedding photographer for the day and we were both shown round the beautiful Nurstead Court by Pippa- the stunning Kent venue has been in Pippa’s family for over 400 years! Stunning grounds and a lovely building (with a very cool library full of very old books!) it was a perfect setting and a wonderful wedding venue.
We scoped out some good locations to shoot and photograph as other suppliers started to set up & the sun started beating down. Our beautiful model Ellie Fox arrived and went straight into hair and make up with Kirsten from Kirsten Hair & Make Up as me & Danny went about capturing the venue, dresses, rings, jewellery, tables, decorations- you name it, Heidi had organised for it to be there! It was a wonderful atmosphere with so many Kent wedding suppliers coming together to help each other out and promote each others businesses.
There was a beautiful table being decorated by Ellen from Harriets Table with lovely crockery, glassware and cutlery making it look like a scene from a 1950’s movie! Added onto the table were some stunning flowers by Joanne from Moody Blooms (who also made a spectacular and vibrant bouquet for Ellie to hold as well!) alongside some stunning menu cards and invitations designed and made by Heather from Heather Corthine Design. Andy from Lawley Design turned up with his bespoke wedding rings & engagement rings and I don’t think ive ever seen quite so much sparkle from one ring before! It looked great on film and really fitted in well with the rest of the theme. Gemma from GB Elegant Events came in with all the props & decorations which brought the venue to life for our photoshoot.
The detailing that went into this Kent wedding shoot was insane!
Just after lunchtime Ellie was ready to go as she slid into a beautiful dress made by Eliza Jane Howell that was full of detail and sparkles- perfect for this vintage glamour shoot! We filmed Ellie putting on the gorgeous shoes that had been designed by Fiona at Glitter ‘n’ Sparkle and some stunning bridal accessories provided by Alexandra Bespoke. We then moved around to different locations to get a variety of shots.
The challenge of the day was to try and capture everyones hard work! With so many aspects to the day and so many different suppliers I had my work cut out to grab every little detail. It was worth it though as I ended up with some absolutely epic footage!
The shoot went amazingly well and everyones hard work paid off. Ellie was the perfect model and knew exactly what to do and we captured everything we wanted to- I came away with so much footage it took me a long time to sort through it all!
I am already excited at the possibility of more of these shoots in the future and hopefully working with all these wonderful Kent wedding suppliers again!
