September 2022

"This love will always be enough" is the title of this romantic, passionate wedding film about these two wild hearts coming together as one. With beautifully written personal wedding vows, stunning visuals & the amazing story of Ellis & Jake, this is definitely a standout wedding of 2022.

Ellis & Jake joined their hearts at the Crown Lodge wedding venue in Wye, Kent. With breathtaking views & a rustic feel, it really was the perfect place to say all those heartfelt words & become husband & wife. Nestled deep into the Kentish countryside, it felt like we had as far as the eye could see all to ourselves. Filming a wedding is all about balance- it’s not a film set & the film isn’t the most important thing, however there is also a need to record enough footage to make a dynamic wedding film that can really deliver a feeling. Ellis & Jake’s special day provided the perfect balance between these two things, which is why this film packs such an emotional punch.

My style of filming requires variety & a diverse amount of footage of the couple, which helps me to tell a story. We didn’t film in big chunks, but rather had lots of mini sessions throughout the day, most of which lasted no more than 20 minutes per session. This meant we could exploit all of the viewpoints & areas we wanted to capture, whilst not pulling Ellis & Jake away from their special day for too long. If this style of film is what you like & you love the variety of different shots there are throughout it then definitely speak to me about how we can achieve this on your wedding day.

This day also had a small but significant difference from the vast majority of my 2022 weddings & that is that Ellis & Jake prioritised me & the film over their photography. This doesn’t mean that their photos were compromised- actually far from it, but what it did mean was that their film wasn’t compromised by their photos. Film is all about motion, movement & natural moments & by prioritising me as their wedding filmmaker it meant I could get all the shots I wanted, whilst their photographers could also do the same. A lot of photography is static, posed or uses flash- none of which give me the footage I need for a great film. I worked closely with Ellis & Jake’s photographers to make sure they got everything they needed & as you can see, the results I got for them are incredible.

This special day very nearly didn't happen though. As we learn in the film, just days before the wedding Ellis was involved in a very serious accident that could've changed everything- something that would make everyone realise just how important this day was & what it meant. This made the day feel so poignant & added another level of emotion on top of what was already a very emotional day.

I always feel like its a privilege to be invited along to film any wedding & I still feel honoured every single time it happens, but every now & then a special wedding happens- one that makes you fall in love with what you do all over again, one that ignites your creativity & passion to create these films, one that makes you truly happy for that couple that they finally get to be Mr & Mrs. This was one of those weddings for me & it will always be a wedding I will hold dearly in the years to come.

What a wedding. What a story. What a couple. The love that Ellis & Jake have for each other- it will always be enough.
