A Cinematic Wedding Film at Botleys Mansion

An Iconic Surrey Wedding Venue, Captured on Film

Botleys Mansion is one of Surrey’s most breathtaking wedding venues and it provided Niamh and Dominic the perfect back drop for their luxurious black tie wedding day.

A grand Palladian country house surrounded by rolling parkland, Botleys Mansion it offers a blend of opulence, romance, and timeless English charm. Its sweeping staircases, glass atrium, elegant ballrooms, and landscaped gardens create a cinematic backdrop for celebrations of every scale.

For me as a wedding videographer, Botleys Mansion is more than a location- it’s a canvas for storytelling. Every corner offers opportunities for emotive, editorial-style visuals that bring a couple’s wedding day to life in a way that feels timeless and deeply personal, as you’ll discover as you learn more about Niamh and Dominic’s spectacular day.

In this portfolio, I’m proud to share one of my latest wedding films from Botleys Mansion — a celebration filled with elegance, love, and unforgettable emotion.

This is the story of The Robert’s.

This wedding film tells the story of a Niamh and Dominic, who had a day filled with both grandeur and intimacy.

From the morning preparations in Botleys Mansion’s light-filled suites to the outdoor ceremony under stormy, rain-filled skies, to the glass atrium reception with its high-energy and the evening celebrations where live music and unforgettable dance moves went long into the night, the day unfolded with beauty at every turn.

The Robert’s day was a real blend of energetic fun and celebration, interjected with high emotions and big moments. The most prominent of these moments for me as their wedding videographer was the standing ovation Niamh’s father received after his speech- a truly heartwarming and authentic moment that became the crescendo of their wedding film.

What I love most about this wedding is how it balances sophistication with genuine warmth. The laughter, the tears, the embraces, and the dance floor energy — every detail came together to create a film that feels as alive and authentic as the day itself.

Why Botleys Mansion Is Perfect for a Wedding Film

Nestled into the Surrey countryside, Botleys Mansion is one of those rare venues that elevates every moment- it’s scale means there is always a sense of occasion, while its design ensures natural light and architectural beauty enhance every frame.

The Glass Atrium is a signature feature and one that Niamh and Dominic fully exploited, entering to the rapturous cheers and screams of their adoring friends and family. Flooded with daylight, it creates an ethereal setting for ceremonies and receptions. For videography, the Atrium’s glass roof transforms even overcast days into luminous scenes, giving films a natural radiance.

The rooms throughout the mansion offer elegance on a grand scale for bridal preparation shots, with beautiful large windows allowing plenty of natural light in that is perfect for creating that cinematic look. The high ceilings and chandeliers throughout the public areas add cinematic drama to evening speeches and dancing, while the polished floors reflect light in a way that enhances atmosphere. The various statues, monuments and hints of history that litter Botleys Mansion add to that timeless feel that can so easily be created here.

The grounds of the mansion provide a romantic counterpoint to the interiors. The tree-lined driveway, sweeping lawns, and garden terraces are perfect for couple portraits, bridal entrances, and golden-hour sequences- not to mention stunning outdoor wedding ceremonies.

From a filmmaker’s perspective, Botleys Mansion is a venue that never limits creativity. Whether I’m filming the mansion at sunset, close-up details of emotional vows, or the energy of a dance floor under chandeliers, the result is always cinematic. Niamh and Dominic chose to have black tie attire and it complimented the venue and its surroundings, giving those truly timeless vibes that make a wedding day like this, unforgettable.

From a couple’s perspective, this venue was the perfect fit for the day Niamh and Dominic had planned. It flowed well, looked mesmerising and treated them and their guests to a very special wedding day. I’ve filmed weddings all over Surrey, however this was my first time visiting Botleys Mansion and I can see why it is such an attractive venue for couples to choose for their wedding day.

Highlights From Niamh and Dominic’s Wedding

Niamh and Dominic’s wedding at Botleys Mansion was one of my absolute favourites from this wedding season- with so many wonderful standout moments, I was spoilt for choice when it came to curating their wedding film.

The morning preparations provided a calm, pensive feel which culminated in an emotional wedding dress reveal by Niamh to her Father, who had unfortunately suffered a life-altering stroke prior to the wedding day. He would later deliver one of the most emotive Father of the Bride speeches I have had the pleasure of capturing, which led to a standing ovation from everyone in the room- trust me when I say that room was filled with tears and lumps in throats.

The party atmosphere, the wide smiles, big hugs, crazy dancing and the high-energy that contrasted those big emotions made this one of my favourite weddings I have ever filmed. Personally, I loved the confetti cannons Niamh and Dominic had at the end of their first dance- it doesn’t get any more cinematic and dramatic than that.

Beyond the ceremony and speeches, what stands out most from The Roberts’ Botleys Mansion wedding is the authenticity- it is entirely, unapologetically, wholly them. The quiet moments in the morning as anticipation built, the tears during vows in the grounds surrounding the mansion, the joy and laughter that carried into the night as the atrium came alive with music and dancing.

Every wedding film I create is a blend of grand spectacle and human detail. This black tie Botleys Mansion wedding shows how those elements come together: it’s these contrasts that make a film timeless.

You don’t watch this wedding film, you feel it.

Why Couples, Like The Robert’s, Choose Me for Botleys Mansion

I met Niamh and Dominic a few years before their wedding day whilst I was filming their friends wedding. I met them a few times over the course of that time as I filmed more weddings of their friends, and so they had seen my work and seen what it would be like to work with me to create their wedding film. I feel incredibly fortunate and humbled that they felt I was the right wedding videographer for them and that they valued the experience I could provide them throughout their wedding journey.

Couples like Niamh and Dominic who book me for Botleys Mansion weddings are looking for more than just a record of their day. They want a wedding film that feels cinematic, emotive, and authentic. They want a filmmaker who understands how to balance the grandeur of a venue like Botleys Mansion with the intimacy of human connection, carefully and intentionally exploring their story and telling it in a tasteful, timeless and cinematic way.

My style and approach to wedding videography- creating bespoke wedding films that focus entirely on you and your story- is something that sets my work a part, and having experienced how I worked with their friends and how I told their stories, I believe was the main driving factor for Niamh and Dominic deciding I was the filmmaker for them. Knowing I had their best interests at heart, that I wanted the best for them and that I have a no-pressure approach on the day put their minds at ease.

My background in the military has given me qualities that translate seamlessly into wedding filmmaking: calmness under pressure, meticulous planning, and reliability. This ensures that no matter what happens on the day, you can trust that your story will be captured beautifully. I worked closely with their wedding planner throughout the day to ensure we extracted every possible moment we could and so

At Botleys Mansion, my experience means I know how to manage challenging light, capture audio clearly in large spaces, and make the most of the venue’s many locations. But beyond the technical, couples choose me because I care. I take the time to listen, to understand, and to create films that reflect the true essence of your wedding day.
