What Makes The Old Kent Barn a Standout Wedding Venue?

The Old Kent Barn offers couples the best of both worlds—historic charm paired with sleek, modern luxury. Nestled in beautifully maintained private grounds in the Kent countryside, the venue features a romantic ceremony barn with exposed beams, a contemporary reception space flooded with natural light, and immaculately landscaped gardens that change beautifully with the seasons.

Whether you’re planning a classic countryside wedding or a sophisticated black-tie affair, this venue adapts effortlessly. Filming here means I can blend aerial drone shots of the grounds with intimate, emotional storytelling moments that unfold naturally in a peaceful, private setting. The flow of the venue lends itself to seamless storytelling—from your bridal preparations right through to the dance floor.

Why The Old Kent Barn Works So Beautifully on Film

From a visual storytelling perspective, The Old Kent Barn offers some of the most versatile and flattering lighting of any Kent venue. The ceremony barn is filled with soft, ambient light, while the floor-to-ceiling windows in the reception area bathe everything in a warm, golden glow. Outdoors, the gardens provide a natural canvas that changes colour and mood throughout the day.

Drone footage is particularly striking here, showing off the symmetry of the grounds and the way the buildings nestle into the landscape. The mix of indoor and outdoor transitions allows for beautifully paced edits that give your film a sense of rhythm and richness.

Why I Love Filming Weddings at The Old Kent Barn

Every wedding venue has a unique energy, and The Old Kent Barn offers something few others do: an effortless sense of calm, elegance, and intimacy. As a filmmaker, I’m drawn to the way each celebration here unfolds in its own rhythm—never rushed, always deeply personal. It’s the kind of venue where couples can fully be themselves, and that’s when the most powerful storytelling happens.

I’ve filmed both sun-drenched summer weddings and candlelit winter celebrations here, and every time I return, I’m inspired by new visual possibilities. The venue’s pristine grounds, architectural symmetry, and atmospheric lighting create natural moments of cinematic beauty. It’s a place where both grand celebrations and quiet exchanges are equally compelling on film.

Whether your wedding is classic, modern, or black tie, The Old Kent Barn has a transformative quality that allows your vision to come to life—and I’m here to document it in a way that feels as timeless as the love you share.

What Luke Batchelor Productions Brings to Your Wedding Day

Working with me is about more than just documenting your wedding—it's about crafting a visual legacy.

At The Old Kent Barn, I bring a deep familiarity with the venue's light, layout, and flow. I know where the golden-hour light filters best through the trees, how to capture intimate footage in the barn without disrupting your ceremony, and how to guide you gently through portrait shots without ever taking you away from the joy of your day.

About Luke Batchelor Productions

I’m Luke—a cinematic wedding videographer, storyteller, and calm presence on one of the biggest days of your life. I am based in Kent, and I am fortunate enough to cover all of the UK & Europe to capture the beautiful stories of my couples.

My background in the British Army taught me structure, clarity, and grace under pressure. My experience as a filmmaker taught me how to see the world through a more emotive lens. Together, these qualities allow me to approach every wedding with both precision and heart—quietly guiding your story into focus without ever imposing on the moment.

My films are known for their balance of elegance and authenticity. I believe in subtlety, in visual poetry, and in capturing what’s real: the emotions, the reactions, the atmosphere, and turning them into an editorial style wedding film.

When you work with me, you’ll never feel like you’re “on camera”—you’ll just feel present. And in the end, you’ll have a film that transports you right back into that feeling, year after year.
