8 Best Kent Wedding Venues
The 8 Best Kent Wedding Venues for a Luxury Cinematic Celebration
The Cinematic Heart of the Garden of England
Kent’s charm lies in its balance — between history and modernity, countryside and coast, grandeur and intimacy. It’s a county that lends itself beautifully to storytelling.
I’m Luke, an editorially-inspired cinematic wedding videographer and photographer. As a Kent-based wedding videographer, covering all of the UK & Europe, I’ve had the privilege of filming across the region’s finest venues, each offering its own light, tone, and rhythm. It’s my back garden, it’s where I learnt my craft and honed my skills in filmmaking, photography and storytelling, and it’s where I have the most experience.
When I film in Kent, I’m always chasing atmosphere — that moment when architecture, emotion, and light align perfectly. Some venues lend themselves to quiet intimacy, others to grand cinematic scale. The eight venues I’ve chosen below are not only breathtaking in design but remarkable for how they move on film.
Perfect for hosting those black-tie extravaganza’s, elegant and intimate ceremonies or hosting the celebration of the year, my hand picked list of Kent’s best wedding venues come from my own experiences as a wedding videographer and of those of my couples.
If you’re searching for your perfect Kent wedding venue, these are the places that consistently inspire my work and my couples.
The Best Wedding Venues In Kent
Eastwell Manor – Timeless Elegance and English Grandeur
Few venues define Kentish luxury quite like Eastwell Manor. Set within 3,000 acres of manicured parkland, it’s a space where every corridor, archway, and lawn feels like part of a period film set.
The architecture offers an abundance of visual storytelling opportunities: ivy-clad stone walls, grand staircases, and sweeping lawns that catch golden light at sunset. Indoors, the soft glow from chandeliers and candlelight makes the atmosphere both regal and intimate — ideal for romantic, cinematic films.
When I film or photograph at Eastwell Manor, I often focus on rhythm — slow, deliberate motion that mirrors the venue’s stillness and grace. Whether it’s a first look in the gardens or the moment the couple walks hand-in-hand beneath the manor’s arches, it always feels timeless.
With it’s historic charm and photo-rich environment, Eastwell Manor is one of Kent’s best wedding venues.
Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve – Wild Backdrops, Refined Style
Port Lympne remains one of Kent’s most distinctive venues — where cinematic storytelling meets natural wonder. I’ve filmed both real weddings and styled editorials here, and it continues to amaze me how diverse it is for film.
From the grandeur of the Italian-style terraces to the intimacy of the Moroccan Courtyard, every angle offers a new atmosphere. The mansion itself brings vintage elegance, while the surrounding reserve opens into vast, cinematic backdrops that feel truly otherworldly. Want to tret your guests to something truly unique? Port Lympne is the place to do just that as you wow your guests with their very own safari through the reserve during your wedding day.
The light at Port Lympne shifts constantly — soft and pastel in the morning, golden and deep by late afternoon. It’s a venue that rewards attention to detail and creative direction, and one that allows couples to craft a wedding unlike anywhere else in the country. The contrast between the magnificent historic architecture of the mansion to the new and modern feel of the Orangery, coupled with the wild roars of the exotic wildlife.
As a wedding videographer I adore Port Lympne and it is very easily one of the best Kent wedding venues for any couple planning their wedding day.
The Orangery, Maidstone – A Lakeside Sanctuary
If Eastwell Manor is defined by its history and architecture, The Orangery is defined by its light and modern vibe. Nestled within landscaped water gardens in Maidstone, this venue offers a calm, elegant atmosphere that feels a world away from the town beyond its gates. It really is a venue that feels totally and unequivocally yours for your time there.
The outdoor ceremony spaces, either by the lake at the Lapa or up by the gazebo on the lawn, is a dream for wedding videography. Light reflects off the water’s surface, creating a luminous, diffused glow that flatters every frame or the wind softly rustling the large and beautiful tree’s that litter the manicured grounds.
With close transport links to London and that ‘world-away’ feeling it delivers, creating films and photos here during any wedding day really is a pleasure. As a wedding videographer it has always be, and I think always will be, one of the best Kent wedding venues.
The Orangery is perfect for couples who want that seamless transition between nature and architecture — where the visuals remain soft, romantic, and cohesive from day to night.
The Old Kent Barn – Countryside Romance with Cinematic Light
The Old Kent Barn remains one of the most-loved wedding venues in the county — and for good reason. Its balance of rustic warmth and refined detail creates a perfect atmosphere for storytelling.
The outdoor ceremony area is surrounded by landscaped gardens and open Kentish skies, giving films and photos here a soft, pastoral quality. Indoors, the timber-framed barn is rich with contrast and texture, beautifully lit by strings of warm light that dance across the beams during the evening.
As the sun sets, golden hour at The Old Kent Barn transforms everything. The surrounding fields rolling off into the Kent countryside glow, the barn takes on a honeyed tone, and the couple’s portraits come alive with depth and emotion. It’s one of those venues that simply feels cinematic in every frame.
As a Kent wedding videographer I’ve had the pleasure of filming here at The Old Kent Barn many times and it is easily one of the best Kent wedding venues.
Chiddingstone Castle – Heritage Meets Storytelling
Steeped in history and surrounded by 35 acres of Kent parkland, Chiddingstone Castle offers a perfect blend of culture, character, and cinematic potential. With its grand façade, ornamental lake, and sweeping lawns, it brings a sense of period drama to every wedding film I curate here.
The castle’s architecture invites symmetry and movement — two elements I love exploring in film. Drone footage here adds scale, revealing how the venue sits harmoniously within the landscape. Indoors, candlelit halls and antique décor lend warmth and intimacy to evening sequences. This venue is perfectly suited to the classic timeless black tie look.
Filming at Chiddingstone Castle as a wedding videographer always feels like stepping back in time- it’s a venue where the grandeur of history meets the emotion of the present, and that combination translates beautifully on screen. The versatility of the grounds, the castle itself and the stunning outdoor ceremony space underneath the Orangery makes this somewhere very special indeed to tie the knot.
As a UK and destination wedding videographer with a vast amount of experience filming across Kent, Chiddingstone Castle in my opinion is one of the best Kent wedding venues.
Winters Barns – Intimate Warmth in a Classic Setting
For couples seeking a rustic elegance in Kent, Winters Barns offers a sense of intimacy that feels effortless. It’s exposed beams, warm tones, and private gardens create an atmosphere that’s both relaxed and refined.
From a filmmaker’s perspective, the beauty of Winters Barns lies in its balance of light and texture. The ceremony barn’s soft window light gives a natural cinematic contrast, while the courtyard outside provides space for golden-hour portraits that glow against the brickwork. Outdoor ceremonies here maintain the intimacy of the indoor ones, and the quietness of the Kent countryside and rolling fields that surround Winters Barns make it a true gem.
Now expanded to house accommodation for guests and with ample room for both bride and groom preparations, Winters Barns is a versatile venue that can be a stunning backdrop to those luxurious black tie celebrations as much as the rustic elegance of a boho day. This is a venue that works in every season. In summer, the gardens provide colour and movement; in winter, the interior lighting and wood textures create warmth and romance.
Personally, this was where I filmed my very first wedding and so it will always hold a special place for me. As a Kent wedding videographer and photographer it is somewhere I have visited many times and it firmly deserves a place on the list of best Kent wedding venues.
Chapel House Estate – Modern Design, Countryside Soul
Chapel House Estate is where architectural minimalism meets natural beauty. Set within 35 acres of private land near Minster, this venue brings a contemporary twist to the traditional countryside wedding.
The estate’s restored 13th-century chapel and glasshouse provide diverse backdrops — from historical charm to sleek, modern design. Every element here feels intentional, which makes it a dream to film and photograph. The glasshouse in particular catches natural light in a way that feels ethereal, and the long aisle walk at the outdoor wedding ceremony area is perfect for slow, elegant camera movement as the bride makes her way towards the ceremony.
The gardens and grounds are manicured and maintained to a very high standard, giving a variety of looks, feels and scenes- perfect combinations for curating that signature cinematic wedding film look.
As the sun sets over the estate’s meadows, I often film the couple walking among wildflowers, the light flickering softly through the stems — a shot that never fails to make it into the final film. The sunlight from golden hour really does pour into this venue and it makes for some creative camera work and of course, extremely memorable moments.
Chapel House Estate is not only one of my favourite venues in Kent, but also one of my favourite from across the South East and the rest of the UK- it thoroughly deserves a place on the list of the best wedding venues.
The Wilderness at Preston Court – Bohemian Spirit and Outdoor Charm
The Wilderness at Preston Court offers something a little different: a venue that celebrates nature, creativity, and connection. Surrounded by meadows, lakes, and woodland, it’s ideal for couples who want a relaxed, free-spirited celebration that still feels polished and intentional.
This is Preston Court’s (another beautiful Kent wedding venue which very nearly made this list) sister venue, which hosts their glamping tipi’s and much more of a ‘wild at heart’ vibe than the Victorian throwback of Preston Court itself. Epic views, open space, wild nature and the intimacy of a Tipi all make The Wilderness one of the hidden gems of Kent when it comes to wedding venues.
From a videography perspective, it’s a gift. Open-air ceremonies in the old shed overlooking the lake- complete with the long aisle walk to give you time to soak in the atmosphere of the day, to candlelit feasts in the stretch tent, and music drifting over the water all make for rich, layered storytelling. The sounds of nature — birds, breeze, water — often become part of the sound design itself, blending seamlessly into the music and vows.
The Wilderness proves that cinematic doesn’t always mean formal — sometimes, it’s about authenticity, texture, and atmosphere. As a wedding videographer specialising in timeless, authentic storytelling using narrative, I love this venue and it definitely has a place on the list of the best Kent wedding venues.
Why These Kent Venues Are The Best
What unites these eight Kent wedding venues and makes them the best is not their architecture or scale, but their potential for storytelling. Each one has its own light signature, its own sense of rhythm and emotion, it’s own backdrop and vibe- meaning no matter what type of wedding you would love to organise, there’s something on this list that caters to you.
When I film weddings, I’m drawn to how a place feels — how sound carries in the air, how the light shifts through the day, how movement interacts with the space - and how I can utilise that to tell the unique story of my couple. These are the venues that give couples the freedom to be fully present in the moment, while also giving me, as a filmmaker and photographer, the tools to craft something timeless.
From Eastwell Manor’s grandeur to The Wilderness’s wild intimacy, Kent remains one of the UK’s most versatile destinations for luxury weddings.
