Sweethearts Caroline and Max’s Transatlantic Private Garden Wedding

Watch Caroline and Max’s’s unique, luxurious and magical transatlantic wedding film from their private garden wedding in Patrixbourne, Kent.

A Private Garden Wedding Brought to Life on Film

Nestled in the peaceful village of Patrixbourne, Kent, this extraordinary garden wedding brought a slice of California sunshine to the English countryside with Caroline and Max- The Maltby’s. With a love story that spanned the Atlantic, this luxury marquee celebration was held in the groom’s family estate—a setting that offered not only sweeping fields and private space, but the freedom to create a truly bespoke celebration. From vintage military vehicles to a bold orange and purple palette, this was a wedding that deserved to be captured with the same depth and artistry with which it was planned.

Capturing the Magic of a Private Marquee Wedding

Private weddings offer a freedom you simply can’t find at fixed venues. For this celebration, I worked closely with the couple and planner to create a film that reflected not just the visual beauty of the day, but the deeper layers of meaning behind it. From aerial footage of the estate to intimate portraiture in golden hour light, I directed each element to enhance the storytelling without intruding on the natural flow of the event. The result was a deeply personal, high-end wedding film that captured the essence of their love and legacy.

Caroline and Max’s Vision: Why This Wedding Works So Well on Film

Private estate weddings like Caroline and Max’s offer limitless cinematic opportunities. The unspoiled fields, architectural features of the house, and wide-open skies allow for dynamic compositions. The marquee structure provided a warm, inviting centre piece during the evening, while the curated décor and attire ensured each shot felt editorial and elevated. Crucially, the freedom to schedule events like fireworks and golden hour portraits with flexibility meant every moment could be timed for maximum visual impact.

As always, my role was more than just filming. I worked closely with the couple and their vendors throughout the day—helping with lighting decisions and ensuring we captured clean audio from the ceremony and speeches, which played such a vital part in the final edit. There were so many elements to Caroline and Max’s story, both in audio and visually, so it was important to capture as much as possible to be able to tell their story in the way it deserved to be told.

My Favourite Wedding Videography Moment

As Caroline and Max exited their Church wedding ceremony, they were greeted by loud cheers from their friends and family and were showered with multicoloured confetti. The only thing brighter than the colours? The smiles of these two- a perfect moment.

“The cinematic way in which he films and edits all his wedding videos was just a perfect fit for us.

For most of the time we forgot we were even being filmed, so we were truly ourselves without any nervousness! He managed to capture every emotion and caught so many little candid moments that were just a joy to re-live.

His professionalism, care and general gentle persona leaves you at ease throughout the entire process and the finished product was truly incredible.”
